报告摘要：

In this talk we also highlight several applications relaying on behaviour of particles at the interfaces,wherea theoretical analysis of the problem has provided us with significant new insights in understanding and thus improving design of such applications.The examples will include production of ultra-stable micron sized bubbles, reducing digestion rate of fat in food colloid formulations involving O/W emulsions, and our recent work in collaboration with Shanxi University, on design of continuous flow, Pickering droplet filled column reactors. With regards to the latter, the importance of the phenomenon occurring on mesoscopic (drop size) length scales will in particular be discussed and shown to play a key role in the operation of such reactors.

报告人简介：

Rammile Ettelaie is now an associate professor in Food Chemical Physics of the University of Leeds. He obtained Ph.D. from Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, Manchester, United Kingdom. He worked as a postdoctoral research scientist in the Central Electricity Research Laboratory of Imperial College, Surrey in 1987-1989. He worked as a senior research scientist in Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI Corporate Colloid Science Group) in 1989-1993 and ICI Colloid and Rheology Unit (Wilton Centre) in 1993 to 2001, respectively. His research interests focus on interface chemistry. He has published over 60 refereed journal papers such as JACS, Langmuir, etc. and has taken part in writing about 10 book chapters.
