报告题目:Simulation of Carbon Deposition on Ni Catalyst: Applications to Methane Catalytic Cracking and Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) Button Cell Modelling

报告摘要:Ni catalysts are widely used in several catalytic processes, such as reforming, due to its high activity. However, when using carbon-containing feedstock, Ni is notoriously prone to coke deposition. This negatively impacts the process (e.g. natural gas reforming, SOFC operating on hydrocarbon fuels), whereas this characteristic can be used on purpose, such as in methane catalytic cracking. In this seminar two different applications of carbon deposition modelling will be presented: the first application relates to methane catalytic cracking where methane decomposes in hydrogen and carbon, the latter forming filamentous carbon. The second application is concerned with the modeling investigation of carbon deposition when SOFC operates on methane or syngas.
报告人简介: Eric Croiset为加拿大滑铁卢大学化学工程系主任,教授,博士毕业于法国奥尔良大学,在加拿大矿业能源技术中心及美国圣地亚国家实验室从事博士后研究,是泰国国立朱拉隆功大学访问教授,并在北京清华大学进行了一年的学术访问。他常年致力于清洁能源的研究工作,在能源研究领域已发表了140余篇的研究论文。目前的主攻方向为: (1) 固体氧化物燃料电池(SOFC) 和固体氧化物电解电池 (SOEC); (2) 合成气反应工程;(3) 能源系统的大规模建模与优化;(4) 二氧化碳的捕集和利用。
